in the approval of the first City Council agreement to develop a
voluntary standard for sustainable construction in Colombia.
She supported the formulation of the Energy Efficiency project
that the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal
Protocol will sponsor in Colombia for US $10M during 2009-2010,
and which will help maximize the energy efficiency savings in all
types of buildings.
Carolina led the implementation of the technical standards that the
Ministry of Environment designed for hotels to obtain the Colombian
Environmental Seal. She was responsible for workshops to promote the
Destination Design and Development methodology based on Agenda 21. In
the private sector, she supported the development of sustainable management
plans for several large scale hotel projects currently being developed in
Colombia. She also promoted the implementation of environmental best practices
for 20 hotel companies that led to the creation of the Sustainable Tourism Chamber.
Now based in Mumbai, India Carolina is responsible for new business development and
project management for La Paz Group in India as well as for ongoing projects
throughout Latin America. Carolina earned a Master of Management in Hospitality
from Cornell University where she specialized in sustainable development, and a
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá,
Colombia. She speaks English and Spanish fluently. |
