La Paz Group founder Crist Inman developed the first diagnostic of the tourism sector in post-Sandinista Nicaragua, after which he led a team that advised the Office of the President on the development of Nicaragua’s first legal framework to stimulate private sector investment in tourism. With a remarkable mix of natural and cultural attractions, but little experience as a tourism destination, Nicaragua’s receipt of foreign direct investment started slowly, but with a focus on cross border cooperation and promotion with Costa Rica, the investment trend is now robust for entrepreneurial, conservation-oriented projects. After completing these destination-level projects, La Paz Group’s sustainable hospitality practice went on to assist various investors develop the first properties in this marketplace: Mombotour, La Gran Francia and Morgan’s Rock.
