Pascal leads
La Paz Group’s project development work across all
assignments. He is currently focused on identifying and
starting up unique initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa, a
region where La Paz Group’s approach to entrepreneurial
conservation-oriented tourism is believed to have
enormous potential. Pascal’s expertise in sustainable
tourism development and ecotourism includes track record
of developing communication strategies aimed at
broadening and increasing the market for sustainable
tourism and linking travelers to environmentally and
socially responsible tourism destinations and
organizations.
He began his career with the Tourism Research Institute
in New Zealand and then relocated to the Ecuadorian
Amazon where he worked with the Shiwiar community. He
then developed and implemented the Regional Ecotourism
Strategy of the Mohéli Island in the Comoros in Africa,
before working on an ecotourism labeling project for the
European Union. His recent assignments include projects
in Panama, and a USAID-funded project in Mali. Pascal is
the Founder and Director of the French Ecotourism
Association, and recently wrote responsible travel
guidebooks for both the Lonely Planet and Le Guide du
Routard, France's leading guidebooks. He holds a Masters
degree in Environmental Science from the University of
Auckland, New Zealand. |
